Meet Your Farmer

Thabang Makoloi

Farm Manager at Siyakhana Food Garden (Observatory, Johannesburg)

Thabang’s main role is to interface between Siyakhana producers (the farmers) and their customer base and keep them loyal. He also manages the production of produce and by extension, the team of farmers who grow it. He prides himself on being a hard worker.

He has a systematic way of thinking and this translates into his leadership of the food garden. What we appreciate best is his flexibility and being readily available for his customers (Kula Organics included).

Amon Maluleke

Farm Manager at Thembalami Food Garden (Lyndhurst, Johannesburg)

Amon is an inspiring Permaculturalist and a pioneer of inner-city gardening. He is known for being one of the founders of Johannesburg’s Bertrams Inner City Farm (Bambanani). He also expertly guided the foundation of the Kula Organics food garden in Midrand. He not only possesses a wealth of expertise in organic food growing, he also has an incredible ability to guide and train other people — aspiring and seasoned farmers alike.
